The Joglo interior is about 1200 sqf and is one large open space with a separated bedroom wall. It is beautifully furnished, and was built with only one thing in mind: keeping the world at bay and providing a space to reflect and relax. A bath house is outside in a separate building with full bath and shower. An additional outside forest shower is available. The Joglo House is not a hotel or B&B - you do your own cooking, or you can eat at the nearby Koro Beach Resort for about F$100 a day for 3 meals.

The cottage is a smaller version of the Joglo house and sleeps two. It has its own full kitchen, a small bath and a private outside shower. Large doors open to a private deck and into the garden. A few steps take you to the private pool area.

Living in the Joglo

The Joglo House is a solar powered home with rain water catchment for our water supply. Conservation is essential and make living here possible, both with energy and water. The baths are equipped with composting toilets. Our showers are outside in the forest, which makes even showering an adventure that you share with nature. While Koro does not have any wild critters that bite or are poisonous, you will encounter mosquitoes, friendly geckos, curious frogs and the occasional spider. A small store is a short walk away. The caretaker can provide you with fresh fruit, and I will stock the home prior to your arrival with foods of your choice. You can hike, swim, dive, encounter village life or enjoy the solitude, library and the serenity of the home.

Books, Music, Art

The home contains an extensive collection of classic novels, early American nature writing, philosophy, spirituality, natural history, science and much more. An Ipod speaker system is available for your use. There is no TV at the house, and Internet is available wirelessly at nearby Koro Beach Resort. Vodafone rental phones can be obtained upon arrival at the Nadi airport and the signal at the house is good on most days.
