Read about living on Koro Island, Fiji...CLOSE
Koro Island is the sixth largest island in Fiji. Koro has remained virtually untouched from commercial tourism, and has an incredible energy that lures the visitor in and stays with them for a long time. Wild parrots glide through the air and horses roam the property. Hike, dive, swim, visit a nearby waterfall or do absolutely nothing. Friendly villagers greet you on the roads, fresh fruit are in abundance and both the sunsets and night skies are simply spectacular. There are 14 villages on Koro and a small community of overseas property owners that live on Koro full time. There are two small resorts nearby, and countless forest paths that let you explore the island. Kayaks and snorkeling gear can be rented at Koro Beach resort. A village visit can be arranged to experience authentic Fijian village life. Fijians on Koro live from subsistence agriculture in the traditional village style as they have done for hundreds of years.
